Jigs are an essential part of the paint or powder application process.
A specially-designed jig can speed and simplify a job, leading to consistent results and lower unit costs. Alternatively, our comprehensive library of jigs may provide a solution without the need for further investment.
At Frederick Cooper we develop and manufacture jigs to suit the needs of the job and the complexities of the component. Jig design is a key to consistent quality and repeatability of finish. Imaginative jigging methods may be the only way to maintain or improve quality and at the same time respond to the demand for lower prices.
When required, we will rapidly manufacture prototype jigs, fixtures or masks to establish, at the earliest opportunity, the viability of painting or powder coating the component. It may be possible to adapt some of the many different jigs and masks which we have amassed over the years. A small adaptation in this way can provide a low cost alternative to purpose-made jigs.
To keep all jigs in first class condition, we regularly remove old coating material from finishing fixtures using an environmentally-compatible, high temperature, burn-off oven. This ensures that no components are lost due to malfunctioning jigging points or poor conductivity.
